New PAPI Lights at Posey Field Airport
Jan 10 —A group of the Federal Aviation Administration
and contractor representatives met with
Haleyville airport manager, Mike Bailey, and
other airport board members to discuss
the installation of new landing lights.
The group visited the site of the proposed
new PAPI lights to be installed within the next
two months near the north end of the
airport runway. The Precision Path Indicator Lights
will be identical to the ones already
installed by the city on the south end
of the runway. These lights greatly
assist pilots in locating the runway and landing
safely, especially during adverse weather.
Funding for the new lights will
come from the FAA. |
